About
As one of ten children, growing up in regional Victoria, I participated in the local community volunteering in various roles. Following that, I lived in Japan for a year as a Rotary International Exchange Student. I moved to the city after high school for university education. I am a ‘can-do, give anything a go’ person.
With a Bachelor of Business, I’ve worked for Optus and Yellow Pages and GE Consumer Finance. After a period, I moved to North-East Victoria to be a Project Manager in Regional Development. This role demonstrated my ability to convince the Australian Government to invest in local projects.
Before “Farmer Wants a Wife” graced television screens, I met my husband Neil Fisher. Together we bought a farm. Neil and I became the 6th generation of Fisher’s in Browns Plains. In quick succession, we had three children. We survived the Millennial Drought, a testament to our resilience.
When the Rutherglen Playgroup needed a President, I put my hand up. I then volunteered to be President of the Rutherglen Kindergarten. Through my experience and leadership of the team, a grant to renovate and expand the facilities was funded. Following that, I was a parent representative on the St Mary’s Primary Rutherglen School Board, in addition to the Parent Team. I am committed to getting things done.
I’ve continued to volunteer for multiple groups in a range of roles, similar to when I was a teenager. Including netball, rowing, Gooramadda Hall, Browns Plains Dinner Committee, Anglican Church, and support my husband in Apex and CFA. I understand rural communities.
I would be humbled and proud to represent the people of Indi in the Federal Parliament as part of The Nationals team, getting things done for Rural and Regional Victorians.
